Responsibilities:

• Financial Leadership and Strategy: Play a pivotal role in enhancing financial systems and processes. Provide valuable insights and recommendations to improve the company’s financial health.
• Team Management and Mentorship: Oversee the brokerage financial team and the financial management of Income Producing Properties. Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to the Accounts Payable clerk and other team members.
• Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for brokerage transactions and income-producing properties. This includes preparing monthly financial statements, coordinating budget preparation, financial forecasts, and regulatory reporting.
• Compliance and Regulation: Work closely with the operations team to ensure all financial activities comply with BCFSA and FINTRAC regulations. Monitor cash management processes and maintain robust internal controls.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis, preparing monthly and annual financial statements for projects and operations. Utilize this analysis to guide strategic financial decisions.
• Systems Integration and Process Improvement: Lead the integration and effective management of ERP systems like QuickBooks and Yard. Focus on developing and implementing efficient accounting policies and processes.
• Audit and Tax Management: Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits, reviews, and NTRs. Manage tax filings and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.

Requirements:

• Minimum of ten years of progressive financial management experience
• Experience in a real estate brokerage environment is highly beneficial
• Strong ability to communicate financial information effectively across the organization
• Proven experience in a collaborative team environment, especially with operations teams
• Familiarity with BCFSA and FINTRAC regulations is a plus
• Experience in integrating and optimizing ERP systems
• Professional accounting designation or nearing completion
