Our client, an innovative real-estate company, is looking for a dedicated Accountant to fill a 13-month contract role with strong potential for permanent employment as part of their expansion plans. This on-site position is based at our client’s office in Vancouver and requires an immediate start.

Your Role: In this pivotal role within our client’s accounting team, you will be responsible for executing a broad range of accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all financial regulations. You’ll report directly to the Controller, contributing significantly to the financial health of the organization. This role is perfect for someone looking to strengthen their accounting skills and make a significant impact in a thriving company.
Your Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting and Month-End Close Cycle:
- Execute precise journal entries and thorough reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
- Maintain consistent communication with community leadership regarding financial status, particularly during month-end and quarter-end closes.
- Transactional Work:
- Handle all activities related to cash receipts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, ensuring meticulous tracking and reporting.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Actively participate in the development and monitoring of budgets, preparing financial forecasts to guide the organization’s financial strategies.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements through timely and accurate preparation and filing of GST, PST, MRDT, and quarterly WCB reports.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
- Manage relationships with external vendors, including auditors and tax advisors, to ensure high-quality service and value for the organization.
Your Capabilities:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of full-cycle accounting experience; CPA designation is highly advantageous but not required.
- Skills: Proficiency in financial software, specifically Yardi or similar systems, with a strong capability in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Additional Requirements: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong capacity for organization and a meticulous attention to detail.
