Accounting Assistant Job – Richmond – Hybrid
$55,000 – 65,000 plus excellent benefits package
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for numbers and a knack for bookkeeping? We are seeking a dedicated Accounting Assistant to join an  organization in Richmond set to achieve an Employer Choice Award.
As the newest team member, this Accounting Assistant Job will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will play a pivotal role in maintaining the organizations financial records.

Key responsibilities include:

Processing accounts payable and receivable invoices and payments, and managing petty cash.

  • Filing and maintaining financial records o ensure they are organized and accessible.
  • Reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements.
  • Entering financial transactions into internal databases and accounting software (Sage)
  • Providing payroll assistance when needed
  • Assisting with tax preparations and filings, including gathering and organizing relevant data.
  • Assisting with budget preparation by collecting and analysing financial data.
  • Managing expense claims and ensuring they comply with company policies.
  • Providing support during audits by supplying the necessary documents and gathering information
  • Communicating with vendors to reconcile invoices and resolve discrepancies.
  •  Responding to internal and external queries related to financial matters.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience in bookkeeping or related accounting roles.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as Sage Accounting Software (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • A willingness to learn and grow within the accounting field.
