About the Role

As Senior Controller, you’ll report to the CFO and lead a capable team of 4–5 finance professionals. This is a hands-on position where you’ll manage cash flow, reporting, and compliance, while providing owners with clear, context-rich financial insights.

It’s the right role if you’re a CPA with real estate experience who enjoys being close to the numbers, mentoring a team, and communicating financial results to stakeholders—without the relentless pressure of corporate ladder-chasing.

  
What You’ll Do

Financial Leadership

  • Deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to the CFO and owners.
  • Provide reports with clear insights, helping leadership make informed decisions.
  • Mentor and support your team, ensuring accuracy and accountability.

Treasury & Transactional Oversight

  • Manage day-to-day cash flow, banking, and lending obligations.
  • Monitor compliance and debt covenants.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

  • Lead annual budgets and rolling forecasts at both property and consolidated levels.
  • Provide variance analysis and practical insights to the CFO and owners.
  • Build useful models and dashboards to track performance and KPIs.

Systems & Process Improvements

  • Enhance reporting processes, strengthen controls, and streamline workflows.
  • Strengthen financial controls and leverage systems using Yardi, MS tools, SharePoint

Family Office Support

  • Oversee selected banking, compliance, and intercompany reporting.
  • Handle sensitive financial matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Support succession planning and estate oversight alongside external advisors.

  

What You Bring

  • CPA designation (CA, CGA, CMA, or equivalent).
  • Proven leadership experience with progressive accounting and finance responsibilities.
  • Direct experience in the real estate industry is essential.
  • Proven ability in treasury and cash flow management.
  • Strong communication skills—able to simplify complex financials for owners.
  • A collaborative leadership style, with a focus on developing your team.
